Connect 9Connect 9
· People connecting with people through discussion, interest and activity groups.
· People caring for people through networks of friendship and support.
In 2010 we are pursuing a focus on the well-being of people in all dimesnions: spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical. To facilitate this we wil be inviting people to develop mutually beneficial 'connections' with those around them. Here's an outline of how our Connect 9 project might work:
- All members and contacts of the church will be invited to engage in a small group or network known as a Connect Group (some people will be in more than one Connect network). Connect groups will meet regularly, perhaps as a small home group, a study group, an occasional discussion group, an interest group, an activity group or any other network around which people coalesce.
- Ideally, groups will consist of around 10-12 people, meaning that every person in the church community is ‘connected’ to at least nine other members of the community.
- Each group will have a ‘Connect Leader’ who will facilitate the life of the group by encouraging members to attend group meetings, maintaining a list of group members, ensuring that members are in touch with each other between meetings, ensuring that members are pastorally caring for each other, and liaising with the ministry team as appropriate. People are free, of course, to participate or not participate in groups, but Connect leaders will be encouraged to maintain contact with non-attending members.
- Existing groups (home groups, interest groups, women’s groups, etc.) will be incorporated into the Connect structure.
Contact us if you would like to be part of a Connect Group, or if you have an idea for network or activity you might like to help initiate!
